CDW:Rather than continue down the winding path of the previous two games, Capcom have decided to focus much tently upon portraying a more realised narrative. Will this new step be in the right direction or stagger helplessly against the frozen winds of the tundra?

The Lost Planet series is one that isn't really sure of what it is. There's definitely an element of third person shooter in there, but the game has gone from survival, to online focussed set pieces, to centralised single player campaign, over just three games, and 'm still not sure what it's all about.

Baden of WGB writes: "Although it never managed to capture as much popularity as something like the Gears of War games, the Lost Planet franchise has the dubious honor of spanning an entire generation with three games to its name, the first of which was released back in 2006. This final entry before we move on to a brand new generation is being developed by a Western team named Spark Unlimited, though, so do they manage to take a franchise with some interesting ideas and do it justice? Not really."

What shouldve been exciting skirmishes filled with awe inspiring battles where random monsters decimated both sides turned out to feel like nothing more than a Gears of War rip-off. Controls that felt well suited for fighting indigenous creatures were atrocious to use against live opponents, and the wildlife plays an insignificant role in most of the battles.
